On December 6th, 2002 at The Inn at Langley, Matt Corddry popped the question to Jill Baumgartner just after they checked in on Friday evening. After much deliberation, Jill accepted the proposal... so now we're Engaged!

The Story: When we checked in, I told Jill that I had a small present for her. While she insisted that we weren't supposed to be exchanging presents this year, she accepted the small red box. Inside, the top of a dog collar was showing. Jill was thrilled -- it was clear to her that we were getting a puppy, and that was the surprise gift for the weekend! When she removed the collar from the box, attached to it was a small silver dogtag. As she read the tag, I pulled out the ring... and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Details: We've been together for just over two and a half years. Jill came out to Seattle for her cousin's wedding, which is where we met. After a job fell through back home in Florida, Jill decided to try her luck in Seattle... and to date this crazy guy named Matt. It seems to have worked out! We bought a house together just over a year ago (click here for some old photos) in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood.
